Susana Lopez mother of Gerald Jose Vasquez Lopez, 20 yrs old, weeps over his death as she holds the blood stained ski mask he was wearing when he was assassinated, he was the older of 5 children and killed during the standoff at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua - UNAN which was attacked by the National Police and pro-Ortega paramilitaries. Gerald was studying a technical in construction at the UNAN, student rebels had been occupying the university campus for more than two months and were target of constant attacks by pro-government groups and police. The students are protesting and showing civil disobedience in discontent with the current government and demand the ousting of president Daniel Ortega as well as vice-president and First Lady Rosario Murillo.
